Cows in India, are quite cheap to maintain. Nutritious milk is sought after and produces a good income. A cow for a family can be life changing.

A cow could earn as much as $1 per day for a family and help lift them out of poverty. So, supplementary income will keep a poor family and enable them to send the children to school and avoid needing to migrate to search for a job.
